Hello there, lovely dream chasers! Welcome to my comfort zone challenge. Showing you how I pushed myself to take those first few steps into the scary world of change.
So if you read last week, you know that I took a job as a nanny even though it wasn’t the “right” thing to do. It was the job that was going to make me the happiest, and that is important. So why is this what I chose?!
I LOVE working with children… I won’t bore you with all the details, you can read all about that here! I just love the lessons that a toddler can surprisingly teach you and there is nothing like hearing the sound of a baby giggle to make your day! I knew I loved babies but I didn’t know how happy it would make me until I decided to take the job. I knew I could embrace my creativity with the free time I would have and I knew I could embrace my inner child for part of the day which is an amazing balance for me. With such a big change underway I decided I needed to do something to make myself happy and not something to stress myself out. It wasn’t work for me, it was just a part of my day, that I loved!
If I did not take that step for me, despite what everyone was saying, I would never have started my TWO businesses! While I had time to be happy, had time to enjoy my life, had time to be me, I had time to find my passion. I always knew what I wanted to do, but I never knew if I could do it. Was it uncomfortable not doing the norm? Was it uncomfortable doing what people were telling me not to? Yes. But I had a plan.
So for 4 days a week, I got to embrace my inner child and have fun! I got to take my mind off anything that was stressing me and play dress up and do Barbie’s hair and make unicorn poop slime and play peek-a-boo. I sang Disney songs at the top of my lungs and danced like a duck to make a little one giggle. It was perfect. It felt so free to let myself act like that!
