Hello there, lovely dream chasers! Welcome to my comfort zone challenge. Showing you how I pushed myself to take those first few steps into the scary world of change.
Deciding that I wanted to be an entrepreneur in a family of librarians was definitely a crazy scary step for me outside of my comfort zone.
Yes, both of my parents are librarians. They both have their master’s degree and worked for universities for years. They are absolutely amazing people! But something inside me always told me I wanted to work for myself. I wanted to live my own dream, not someone else’s.
So I did the whole degree thing and I am so proud of my education. I’m not going to say that it was a waste of my time and I didn’t learn anything because I definitely use a lot of my course information. I will say without the tools or help on figuring out what I actually wanted to do with my life after college was a complete waste of time and money. But once I narrowed my path, I am grateful for the education that I received.
Now that being said, once I got out I was like wait… now what?! I still wanted to work for myself so what do I do now?
Taking the step to be an entrepreneur was a tough one for me, I knew that I wouldn’t have a lot of resources from my family. I knew I would have all of the support, they support me in absolutely everything I do. But when it comes to business advice or tools I should use, it’s like a whole different language. A lot of times when I would tell them things about my business it would be like a concept they couldn’t grasp.
That voice in my head was what told me to keep going, something was telling me that this is what I was supposed to do. So, I did it.
