An open letter to the working momma:
I see you.
I see you waking up each morning to do what you have to do.
I see you leaving with pain in knowing that you have to leave a piece of your heart behind.
I see you questioning if you are doing it right, if you could be doing more, if you shouldn’t have yelled at them for something so small.
I honor you.
I honor your work, every ounce of your hard work.
I honor your gift to be a mom with all your heart.
I honor your first soul’s purpose.
I applaud you.
I applaud your strength. You are strong because you are a mom.
I applaud your courage. You are brave because you are tested everyday.
I applaud your heart. Your core is love and you didn’t know it would be possible to love greater until that baby came.
I give you permission.
I give you permission to slow down.
To stop creating guilt in your space.
To just be constantly fueled by that love that you have, and that means loving yourself first.
Your tiny humans are unconditionally in love with you. They don’t remember the time you were annoyed at something or frustrated for a minute. They don’t focus on the one road bump you had last weekend or the snack you forgot last grocery trip. They don’t realize you’re gone at work for 8 hours, it feels like a minute for them. They miss you all the time when you’re gone.
Tiny humans do not know:
Judgement
Guilt
And their greatest fear is a monster from that one show.
We are all part tiny human, part old soul. Maybe we’re in the middle but we are all on the same journey. Would you judge little girl you as harsh as you judge present you? You two are one in the same.
See yourself.
Honor yourself.
Applaud yourself.
Give yourself the permission.
You are amazing, every piece of you. The mom. The wife. The hard worker. The friend. The sister. The artist. The creator. The lover. The human.
You are love.
